Happy Tap water systems carry a lifetime warranty on tanks, ceramic valve discs and dry parts, five years on the control valve, circuit board and media, and one year on reverse osmosis systems and installation labor.
Coverage by component
| Component | Coverage |
|---|---|
| Ceramic discs (rotary valves) | Lifetime |
| Media tanks and storage tanks | Lifetime |
| Brine (salt) tank | Lifetime |
| System dry parts that don’t contact water | Lifetime |
| Control valve | 5 years |
| Circuit board | 5 years |
| Filtration media (resin and carbon) | 5 years |
| Reverse osmosis systems | 1 year |
| Installation labor | 1 year from date of purchase |
What each term means
- Lifetime: mechanical and non-consumable components that don’t come into direct contact with water, plus tanks and ceramic discs, for as long as the original purchaser owns the system.
- 5 years: the control valve, circuit board and filtration media, against defects in materials and workmanship under normal operating conditions.
- 1 year labor: labor-related issues arising from the original installation, for one year from the date of purchase.
Who is covered
Coverage applies to the original purchaser and is not transferable to later owners.
What isn’t covered
- Misuse, abuse, neglect or accidents
- Improper installation or unauthorized repairs
- Flooding, freezing and other acts of nature
- Water conditions that foul filters, resin or membranes
- Unauthorized modifications to the system
Unauthorized repairs void coverage. Systems must be installed, operated and maintained according to Happy Tap guidelines.
Keeping your coverage
- Check salt levels monthly at first, then every two to three months (Care Plan members get this done for them).
- Change reverse osmosis filters about once a year.
- Keep the bypass valve accessible.
- Call Happy Tap before anyone else works on the system.
Replacement parts
Replacement parts are covered for the remainder of the original coverage period and must be fitted by a Happy Tap–approved technician. Labor for component replacement isn’t included after year one.
